Yuri Alberto stretchered off in tears during Corinthians v Athletico-PR | OneFootball

Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto left the Neo Química Arena pitch in tears in the second half against Athletico-PR on Thursday, in the 21st round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to Globo.com, Corinthians also lost the Moroccan Zakaria Labyad in the first half, the midfielder twisting his knee on the new turf and unable to walk off.

Yuri Alberto’s incident came at 32 minutes of the second half in Corinthians’ defensive half. He contested a ball, lost his balance and, trying to correct his stride to avoid a fall, reached for the back of his right thigh.

Moments after a sprint, he gestured that he had felt a twinge in the area, then went to ground and signalled to the bench for help.

Still on the grass, he began to cry and could not hold back the tears as he was carried by stretcher to the dressing room.
