Joshua Zirkzee remains Roma’s top attacking target. Frederic Massara has been working with Manchester United for weeks to reach an agreement.
Although negotiations are still far from being finalized, the Giallorossi sporting director is convinced of the player’s desire to return to Italy.
According to reports from CentreDevils.uk, a meeting between the player and the English club has taken place in the last few hours.
The former Bologna player, who scored against Wolverhampton yesterday, has confirmed his desire to leave Manchester and is pushing to join Gian Piero Gasperini.
Negotiations between Roma and the Red Devils could soon enter their heated phase.
Manchester reports indicate that United are already working to find his replacement, considering the many attacking players currently playing in the Africa Cup of Nations until mid-January.
The two clubs, however, have yet to reach an agreement.
The English club, aware of the player’s desires, would like to capitalize on a potential transfer.
Roma’s plan is to sign the Dutchman on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met. Massara is hard at work.
