The South African U17 national team commenced their World Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Bolivia in Doha, Qatar on Monday.

Highly rated starlet Emile Witbooi broke the deadlock in the 38th minute - two minutes after Siviwe Pama received his marching orders.

Neo Bohloko doubled the lead five minutes after the restart, before Jesus Jesus pulled one back from the spot in the 72nd minute.

Shaun Els put the game to bed with a goal in stoppage time to hand South Africa their first-ever win at the global showpiece.

Amajimbos currently sit atop Group A standings, with hosts Qatar set to square off against Italy later in the day.

South Africa will return to action with a clash against the Middle East nation on Thursday, 06 November.
