Second-half goals from Semir Telalović and Jannik Rochelt completed a superb turnaround for Mitch Kniat’s side, earning a vital three points that add intrigue at both ends of the table.

It was Darmstadt who made the brighter start, taking the lead from a well-worked set piece. Fraser Hornby laid the ball off from a free kick to Matej Maglica, whose low effort slipped through the grasp of Jonas Kersken to give the visitors an early advantage.

Arminia responded well to falling behind and gradually took control of the first half. While they found promising positions in the final third, they struggled to truly test Marcel Schuhen, with Darmstadt holding onto their 1-0 lead at the break.

Kniat’s men carried that momentum into the second half and were rewarded almost immediately. Thaddäus Momuluh delivered an inviting cross that found Semir Telalović, and the Nürnberg loanee powered a header beyond Schuhen to level the score with a deserved equaliser.

The contest quickly turned into one-way traffic after the restart, with Darmstadt visibly unsettled by Arminia’s intensity. By the 70th minute, the hosts had registered six second-half shots - while the visitors had yet to muster a single attempt.

With nine minutes remaining, Arminia completed the comeback. Substitute Jannik Rochelt reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the area and fired a first-time finish past Schuhen, sending the home crowd into raptures.

Darmstadt, usually so clinical in attack, offered little in response, allowing Arminia to see out seven minutes of added time with relative comfort.

The victory marks Arminia’s first since mid-February, ending a five-match winless run and lifting them up to 11th place on 31 points. For Darmstadt, it is now three games without a win, leaving them in 4th place and at risk of losing ground in the promotion race.
