Three managers from Germany that Johannes Spors must consider
Southampton are searching for a replacement for Will Still following their poor start to the Championship season.
The Saints made the decision to part ways with the 33-year-old after he oversaw just two wins from their opening 13 league fixtures.
Three defeats in a row, including Saturday's 2-0 loss to Preston North End, proved the end of the young coach’s short career at St Mary’s.
It has since been reported by Sky Sports (November 4, 11:42am) that the Hampshire outfit are searching Germany for their next managerial appointment, with sporting director Johannes Spors leading the process to find someone from that part of the world.
Here, we look at THREE managers from Germany that Southampton must consider as their replacement for Still...

Edin Terzic is currently out of work, but his coaching experience comes from his time working in his native Germany.
The 43-year-old was Borussia Dortmund manager after stepping up from an assistant’s role, and it remains the only role he’s had as the main man.
He has been out of work since 2024, and could now be itching to make a return to football, having previously led the Bundesliga side to the Champions League final in the 2023/24 campaign.
Dortmund finished fifth in the Bundesliga standings that year under Terzic, but he requested to leave despite his European exploits, and he's not held a managerial role since.
It remains unclear whether he could be tempted to make the move to English football, but Southampton could be a tempting prospect, even with their poor position in the Championship table at the moment.
The Saints are a club with recent Premier League history, have a squad that should be capable of fighting for promotion to the top flight, and a squad that should suit his pressing style.

René Maric is currently a part of Vincent Kompany’s coaching staff at Bayern Munich, and has worked as a coach in Germany for the last several years.
He first moved to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2019, working alongside Marco Rose, before making the switch to Dortmund and then Bayern.
The 33-year-old has earned a top reputation within the game for his tactical ideas, and his appointment could be a real coup.
If he is ready to make the step up to a managerial role, then Southampton could be a great opportunity for him, following in similar footsteps to Danny Rohl.
The Austrian also has experience working in England from his time at Leeds United, so should be suited to making the switch.

Miron Muslic will be a familiar name to followers of the Championship after his brief stint with Plymouth Argyle last season.
He earned a lot of praise for his work with the Pilgrims, despite their relegation from the division, but he soon jumped ship.
The 43-year-old departed Home Park in the summer, moving to Schalke, where he is currently overseeing their promotion push from the second tier of German football.
While he is still only a few months in the door at Gelsenkerchin, he could be tempted back to England with a role as prominent as Southampton.
Muslic has the potential to be a very shrewd appointment, as he had Plymouth punching above their weight, earning impressive results with a limited squad and there’s no doubt he could’ve kept them in the Championship if he had a full season.
