A head-turning statistic surrounding the creative exploits of departing Real Madrid star Luka Modrić this past season has come to the fore online.

This comes amid confirmation that the Croatian was responsible for carving out more ‘big’ goalscoring opportunities than a pair of Barcelona midfielders combined.

Modrić, of course, is all set to bring a close to his iconic Real Madrid stint over the weeks ahead.

Upon the conclusion of his contract in Spain’s capital following the upcoming Club World Cup, the veteran midfielder will be on the move, after the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu made the call not to renew his expiring contract terms.

Safe to say, though, that this decision did not come owing to a major drop off in performnce on Modrić’s part.

In fact, as alluded to above, the statistics show that the former Tottenham Hotspur man remained an elite-level creator from his berth in the middle of the park in 2024/25.

As revealed by StatMuse, despite playing 600 fewer total minutes, Modrić (16) created more chances than Barcelona pair Dani Olmo and Fermín López combined (15) in La Liga this past season.
