Italy returned to winning ways in the Nations League with a 4-1 triumph over Israel.

The Azzurri dominated proceedings at the Stadio Friuli. Giovanni Di Lorenzo was the stand-out performer with a second-half brace for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Arsenal star Riccardo Calafiori played on the left side of the back three for Italy. He had another fine display with 86 touches and a passing accuracy of 96%.

The versatile defender completed seven successful long balls (100%) while winning 100% of his aerial duels. He made five recoveries in the game as well.

Calafiori has had a superb beginning to his career with the Italian national side and he has already established himself as an undisputed starter for them.

The 22-year-old has made a similar impression for the Gunners. He scored a stunning wondergoal in his full Premier League debut against Manchester City.

He has started the last five games for Arsenal in all competitions and has already become a favourite among the fans due to his consistent performances.

The £38 million-rated star should keep his place at left-back when the Gunners face Bournemouth in Saturday’s Premier League clash at the Vitality Stadium.

The London giants are just one point behind leaders Liverpool and could have the chance to leapfrog them. The Reds face a tricky outing against Chelsea on Sunday.

Arsenal will then host Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League before welcoming Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium at the end of October.

This will be followed by trips to Preston North End (Carabao Cup), Newcastle United, Inter Milan (Champions League) and Chelsea before the next international break.

Calafiori could be ever-present at left-back with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu possibly injured. The latter apparently suffered a setback against Southampton.
