‘A great team’ – Atlético Madrid boss Diego Simeone hails Hansi Flick’s Barcelona | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has this week moved to reveal his admiration for La Liga rivals Barcelona.

Specifically, the Argentine has been left impressed by the endeavours of the Blaugrana since being taken over by Hansi Flick.

Barca are of course fresh off a thoroughly productive campaign on the silverware front in 2024/25.

In their debut season under the watch of the aforementioned Flick, the Catalans rattled off a domestic treble, to cement themselves as the dominant force in Spanish football.

And as alluded to above, one individual who could not help but be impressed along the way was Diego Simeone.

Speaking during an interview with COPE (as cited by Diario Sport) this week, Atlético’s headmaster was asked to name the La Liga team other than his own whom he enjoys the most.

And Simeone did not hesitate in highlighting Barcelona:

“The team I like the most? Barcelona. Good coaches are the ones who manage to exploit the best version of footballers. They have verticality, positional play, wings that are very important, Raphinha last season, not to mention Yamal, Pedri… they have a great team.”
