„A machine“: Kane raves about Haaland ahead of their head-to-head matchup | OneFootball

Today, Saturday, the quarterfinal match at the 2026 World Cup between England and Norway will take place at 11 p.m. Bayern star Harry Kane will also face off directly against Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. And the Englishman raved about his opponent. 

There is certainly no doubt that both are among the best strikers in the world right now. Many experts even consider Kane the best player at his position, and he has an excellent chance of winning the Ballon d’Or.

And Haaland has been impressing for quite some time with his exceptional efficiency; he’s powerful, dynamic, and a key player for both his club and the national team.

Ahead of their head-to-head matchup, Kane was asked about the Norwegian striker at the English team’s press conference.

Kane on Haaland: “Impossible to answer”

And the Bayern Munich striker, who has already proven his quality time and again at this World Cup, raved: “Erling is incredible; his stats speak for themselves. Physically, he’s a machine, a beast. His finishing is top-notch; he’s simply a fantastic player.”

Norway’s victory over Brazil in the Round of 16, in particular, served as a warning to the English team. The Norwegians are brimming with confidence and pride.

“It’s going to be a tough game against a very good team, with top players and a coach who has them well prepared,” Kane said. “We have to find weaknesses in their structure and impose our game on them.”

So far, however, the English team has performed at a high level and found ways to score goals against every opponent.

When asked whether he or Haaland was the better striker, Kane replied diplomatically: “That’s an impossible question for me to answer. First of all, I think we’re almost completely different players. I know we’re both seen as strikers, but to be completely honest, they’re almost two different positions.”
