Unfortunately for Manchester City and Abdukodir Khusanov, the young defender sustained a foot injury during City’s 1-all draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium towards the end of September. Khusanov had made impressive strides as a player playing at right-back. He has subsequently missed his team’s past six matches due to the injury he sustained against Arsenal. In good news for Manchester City, Khusanov has been pictured training with his teammates. That is good news for Pep Guardiola’s side as it seems that the young defender will be back sooner rather than later.
In images shared on mancity.com yesterday, Abdukodir Khusanov has been pictured training. The young defender sustained a foot injury and only played the first half of Manchester City’s 1-all draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. In his absence, Matheus Nunes has taken over at right-back. To Nunes’ credit, he has performed superbly well in Khusanov’s absence.

Pep Guardiola has already ruled Rodri and Abdukodir Khusanov out of today’s match against Aston Villa. The pair are the only two Manchester City players who are unavailable for today’s Premier League fixture at Villa Park.
The good news for Manchester City is that Abdukodir Khusanov is back training. The young defender will need time to return to full fitness. He seemingly has competition to take the right-back position back from Matheus Nunes. Competition for places is exactly what Pep Guardiola wants, and he will seemingly have it with Khusanov returning to full fitness. The young defender can also compete for a position in the heart of Manchester City’s defence, which will help keep Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Nathan Ake and John Stones on their toes.
Abdukodir Khusanov is seemingly on the comeback trail from injury. That is welcome news for Pep Guardiola’s side who will need the pace and strength at the back that Khusanov provides.
