AC Milan and Juventus ‘eye’ Illan Meslier amid Leeds exit talk | OneFootball

AC Milan and Juventus have expressed interest in Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier, according to Football Insider.

There was surprise when Meslier stayed at Elland Road in the summer after he slipped to third choice behind new signing Lucas Perri and Karl Darlow, who took the number one role late last season.

Despite that expectation, and with Alex Cairns also in the squad, Meslier remained and has not featured this season. Leeds may cash in with a small fee in January to aid their PSR position before the player departs on a free transfer in the summer.

Regardless of January, it is viewed as almost certain Meslier will not be at the club beyond the summer. His availability has alerted the Italian clubs, who have uncertainty in goal.

Mike Maignan is out of contract in the summer at AC Milan, while Inter Milan’s Swiss number one Yann Sommer is also in the same position. There is little talk so far of a January move to Serie A, though it could develop if a club pushes to secure his long-term future before increased competition in the summer.
