Aston Villa defender Lucas Digne is attracting transfer interest, and they may consider selling him, according to Milan Live.

The left-back is a target for AC Milan, and an exit could be on the cards in the summer transfer window.

Villa manager Unai Emery has stuck with Digne this season despite many people expecting him to favour Ian Maatsen.

The Frenchman has made seven appearances in the Premier League for the Birmingham-based club this term, bagging an assist and helping to keep two clean sheets.

Diggme has created six chances and completed 10 successful crosses. He has won six tackles, 15 duels and four interceptions, and has the highest expected assists (1.1)

However, the 32-year-old is entering the twilight of his career, and this is the last opportunity for Villa to make some money from his sale.

Milan wants to add another left-back with Serie A experience, and the Villa ace fits the bill.

The 19-time Serie A champions are prepared to offer him a three-year deal and believe they can get him for €6-7 million.

Villa would be unwise to cash in on Digne, who reportedly earns £168,750 per week.

He remains one of the most consistent performers in the squad and has outshone Maatsen this season.

His defensive awareness, delivery from wide areas and leadership continue to give the club balance and maturity down the flank.

Even if Maatsen eventually takes over the starting role, keeping Digne around makes sense.

He’s a reliable veteran who raises standards in the dressing room and offers genuine quality off the bench.

The proposed fee wouldn’t move the needle for a club chasing top-four ambitions.

Letting go of arguably the best left-back of their Premier League era for that price would be a needless gamble for the Villains.
