AC Milan and Bologna are set to clash at San Siro this Sunday.
Both teams are eager to gather momentum after a mixed start to the 2025/26 campaign, with Milan aiming to stabilise their performances under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri, while Bologna look to build on a win before the break under Vincenzo Italiano.
Milan may unveil new signing Christopher Nkunku, who arrived from Chelsea in a notable £36 million transfer. Veteran midfielder Luka Modric, acquired from Real Madrid on a free transfer after 13 highly successful years in Spain, is also expected to start.
However, the Rossoneri will need to cope without star forward Rafael Leao, who was recently diagnosed with a more serious calf injury than initially expected. Reports indicate that the Portuguese international will miss the upcoming fixture and is likely to be sidelined for around a month.
Up front, Santiago Gimenez will be available for selection and is anticipated to play a prominent role. After transferring from Feyenoord for approximately €35 million in February, Gimenez has faced challenges with form, managing only six goals since joining and none so far this season, despite featuring in Milan’s starting lineup in both league matches.
AC Milan Predicted XI: Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Musa, Fofana, Modric, Estupinan; Saelemaekers, Pulisic, Gimenez
Sunday at 7:45pm BST.
For viewers in the UK, the match will be shown live on TNT Sports and DAZN.
