Tunisia began their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a solid win over Uganda.

It took just 10 minutes for the Tunisians to take the lead when Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Ellyes Skhiri headed in from a corner. Currently the goal has Skhiri's name on it but with the ball bouncing off the post and in via goalkeeper Salim Jamal it may instead go down as an own goal.

Not that Tunisia will mind and they added to their tally just before the breakthrough through Elias Achouri. Ali Abdi's low cross wasn't the easiest but Achouri opened his body to side foot into the roof of the net to make it 2-0.

Achouri made it 3-0 with his second of the night in the 64th minute after he was the quickest to react following a save that Jamal really should have held on to.

Uganda did manage a late consolation goal though when substitute Denis Omedi's shot took a big deflection to make sure no one was stopping it going into the net.

The superior goal tally means that Tunisia are now top of Group C ahead of a big game against Tunisia with Uganda facing a more winnable fixture against Tanzania.
