AFC Bournemouth's Alex Scott has been omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for this month's friendlies, Bournemouth Echo reports.
Scott, 22, loses the place he earned at the last Three Lions camp, with Everton’s James Garner coming in. The other midfielders named are Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice, Morgan Rogers and Adam Wharton.
He received his first call-up in November for qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, was left out for the first game, then remained an unused substitute for the second.
Since then he has been a standout for Bournemouth, who are 10 games unbeaten in the Premier League. It appears there was little more he could have done to stake his claim.
Speaking earlier this week about his England hopes and his season, he kept a level head. "We'll see what happens this week. If it goes well, it goes well. If not, then head down, focus and go again," he said.
