The final group games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations begin later today to determine which team will reach the knock-out rounds.
However, some sides have already made it through to the round of 16 while others are already out with their players set to return to their respective clubs soon after.
Qualified
Only three teams know exactly where they fit in for the next round although there are others guaranteed at least a third-place finish.
One of the favourites, Egypt, have booked their place after two wins from their first two Group B games with Mohammed Salah on target in both victories over Zimbabwe and South Africa. They can relax against an Angola team fighting for qualification.
Over in Group C, Nigeria have already won against Tanzania and Tunisia meaning that they can rest ahead of their final group game against Uganda.
Finally in E, Algeria have won both of their games against Sudan and Burkina Faso while keeping clean sheets with Riyad Mahrez having scored three times so far.
Eliminated
Of course, there are winners and losers, Botswana are out after two defeats which isn't much of a surprise considering their squad.
Equatorial Guinea's loss to Sudan proved costly for a team that had reached the knock-out stages of the two previous editions.
It's a similar scenario for Gabon The Panthers have a talented squad but while an opening loss to Cameroon was to be expected, losing to Mozambique was the end of the road.
Once the final round of group games are completed knock-out games begin on January 3rd with the final taking place on January 18th in Rabat.
