Africa Cup of Nations final: 18 Senegalese fans still detained in Morocco

The Senegalese fans detained in connection with the events of the Africa Cup of Nations final are still patiently awaiting their fate, as their trial has been postponed once again.

The hearing, which was scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Rabat, has now been delayed to a new date, February 12, due to a strike by Moroccan lawyers.

This postponement further intensifies the suffering of these fans and their families, who have already endured weeks of pre-trial detention.

There are 17 fans in total, facing criminal charges including assaulting security forces and acts of vandalism.
