Bayern star Alphonso Davies has not had a good season. The Canadian first recovered from a cruciate ligament rupture and then suffered a number of muscle injuries. But now there is some good news
It was recently announced that the left-footer has been nominated for the Canadian World Cup squad, and as Canada is one of the host nations, the federation is hoping that the best and most important players will be included
However, the player is still suffering from a muscle injury and travelled to the national team’s camp with a corresponding injury. It was recently uncertain when he would be able to start training again
As part of the tournament preparations, there is now good news from the Canadian camp, as Alphonso Davies has at least resumed running training and has been doing his laps while the rest of the team has been training intensively

However, it is not yet clear how long it will take Davies to be an option for the Canadian selection again. His build-up will still take some time
He himself also commented, but was unable to give a final prognosis. „I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and doing some running. At the moment I really can’t say,“ was his assessment of the Canadians‘ opening game
He added: „Obviously I could say yes or no, but it all depends on how the rehab goes. We’ll just have to wait and see how everything develops over the next few days. I’ll just continue my rehab, my progress, and see how I feel, day by day, step by step. Time will tell.“
There have been disputes between FC Bayern and the Canadian FA in the past, which threatened to escalate because the Canadians did not properly recognize Davies‘ serious injury at the time. In the meantime, however, the dust has settled and there is a good exchange of information.
