FC Bayern are currently in absolute top form. The record champions are on the verge of winning the Bundesliga title, while in the Champions League they fought their way into the semi-finals with a spectacular 4:3 win over Real Madrid. One of the big winners this evening: Michael Olise
The Frenchman was once again the difference-maker – and has now received extraordinary praise from one of Bayern’s biggest critics of all people
Dietmar Hamann, who has regularly been critical of FC Bayern’s performances in the past, found unusually clear words after the Real thriller. In his Sky column, the former international was delighted with the 24-year-old’s performance
Hamann was particularly impressed by Olise’s consistency and physical presence: „Olise keeps going into one-on-one situations, but I haven’t even had the feeling that he’s getting tired. When you look at him, he’s hardly sweating.“
His conclusion is correspondingly clear: „The boy can’t be switched off, he’s a phenomenon.“ Words that are rare in such clarity from the mouth of the otherwise rather critical TV pundit
Olise once again underlined the fact that he is currently one of the most in-form players in Europe in the quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid
The attacking player was already one of the most eye-catching players in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, but he topped it all off in Munich, scoring late on to make it 4-3 and finally making the Allianz Arena explode
His dynamism, creativity and, above all, his ability to take responsibility at crucial moments make him a key player in Vincent Kompany’s system at the moment

Looking ahead to the upcoming semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, the focus is now turning to a potential clash of giants: Michael Olise versus Ousmane Dembélé
Hamann sees this as a real highlight of the premier class: „One is the reigning world footballer, the other is the outstanding player in the Champions League so far.“
Despite Bayern’s strong performances, the 51-year-old believes the French have a slight advantage and puts the odds at „51:49 for PSG“ – an assessment that is mainly due to Munich’s defensive weaknesses in the quarter-finals
Regardless of this, one thing is clear: if FC Bayern want to keep their title dreams alive, it will once again come down to Michael Olise
The Frenchman is emblematic of Munich’s new attacking power – courageous, creative and capable of deciding a game single-handedly at any time
Even critics like Dietmar Hamann cannot avoid describing him as what he is at the moment: one of the best and most dangerous players in world soccer.
