FC Bayern are taking an important step towards the return of several long-term injured players. Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito and Jamal Musiala are working flat out on their comeback – and for two of them the timetable is now apparently fixed.
While Musiala will need a few more weeks after his severe fibula fracture, Davies and Ito are expected to return to full team training immediately after the international break. If everything goes according to plan, both could make their comeback in December.
The progress of the three stars is clearly visible at Säbener Straße. Musiala, who suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle against Paris Saint-Germain at the Club World Cup in July, is now working regularly with the ball. The 22-year-old recently completed running and passing exercises with rehab coach Simon Martinello.
Coach Vincent Kompany was impressed by his attacking star’s commitment, but warned against pushing him too fast: „We see Jamal almost every day. His body language shows how much he is looking forward to this next step, to getting back on the pitch. From my point of view, it’s a question of patience with Jamal.“ According to the Münchner Abendzeitung newspaper, Bayern are aiming for a return between mid-December and January – depending on the healing process.

According to the report, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito could return much quicker. Both have been working individually on their return for weeks. Davies suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in an international match with Canada in March, while Ito suffered his third metatarsal fracture in the same month. According to the Abendzeitung, Bayern plan to fully integrate the duo into team training immediately after the international break. If there are no setbacks, both could be back on the pitch in December.
