AI has predicted which three Championship sides will be in the Premier League next season
The Championship season has, once again, been full of drama at both ends of the table, with the campaign's run-in now fast-approaching.
The early months of a new calendar year are so often decisive in determining the fortunes of several second tier sides, particularly in the race for Premier League football.
The race for promotion has taken a handful of twists in recent weeks, as sides who were expected to be in such a position have begun to gather momentum, whilst others are continuing to defy the odds.
The play-off race is also hotting up and is set up nicely for a dramatic end to the season, with over 10 sides now separated by a matter of points heading into the season's final weeks.
It has so often been said that the Championship is one of the hardest leagues to predict in world football, with several surprises and storylines thrown up over the course of the 46-game regular season and beyond.
Football League World has put this to the test, though, and has seen whether AI-based chatbot, ChatGPT, can correctly predict the three sides who will be promoted to the elite level of English football automatically or through the play-off route, and the others who will suffer heartbreak as a result.

Despite faltering significantly in recent weeks, AI believes that Coventry City will end a 25-year exile from the Premier League at the end of the season, and will do so as champions of the Championship.
The Sky Blues' upwardly mobile trajectory after so many years of uncertainty has been well-documented, and the computer predicts it will be 'third time lucky' for the West Midlands club after two previous play-off failures in the past three years.
However, some at the CBS Arena may question AI's current prediction, with Frank Lampard's side only winning four of their last 13 league fixtures, which has seen a healthy lead at the top of the table well and truly dissipate in recent weeks.
Such concerns only grew last weekend when City were held to a goalless draw against 23rd-placed Oxford United, which comes before a crucial showdown against Middlesbrough on Monday, February 16th, in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

10 years after their last promotion to the Premier League was secured, AI believes Middlesbrough will come second to Coventry.
The Teesside outfit have enjoyed a fine season, albeit it is one which has also been filled with drama after Kim Hellberg replaced Rob Edwards at the Riverside Stadium in November.
However, the computer believes that those in the North East will be laughing loudest and swapping places with their former boss in the pyramid, as Wolverhampton Wanderers remain at the foot of the top-flight standings.
Hellberg's side have been the division's form team in recent weeks, having responded to a lull of four matches without victory or a goal at the turn of the year with a run of impressive results and performances, whilst goals have been flying in from all angles.
The Swede has certainly got the best out of creative forces such as Hayden Hackney and Morgan Whittaker, and the duo are likely to continue having a major say on whether the Reds will be back in the top-flight come May.

After overtaking Hull City into third on goal difference last weekend, AI believes Ipswich Town will remain at the top of the play-off places and will return to the Premier League at the first time of asking through the post-season lottery.
Town worked miracles to be promoted automatically two years ago when fighting it out against the trio of relegated Premier League sides, but this season, the shoe has been on the other foot, with many predicting the Suffolk side to win the title before a ball had been kicked.
It has been an up-and-down season for Kieran McKenna's side in many ways, but they have certainly rekindled their strong mentality in recent weeks to be back amongst the conversation when it comes to automatic promotion, and their squad depth is certainly concerning Coventry supporters in particular.
However, AI believes they will have to settle for a play-off place, although it predicts they will see off Sergej Jakirovic's Hull outfit at Wembley Stadium in a close-fought play-off final on May 23rd after defeating big-spending Wrexham in the semi-finals over two legs.
