AI to translate Ligue 1+ commentary into Italian for PSG v OM | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Italian subscribers to Ligue 1+ will be able to watch Thursday’s Trophée des champions between PSG and OM in Kuwait City at 19:00 with the original French commentary translated into Italian by artificial intelligence.

The match will be streamed live on the LFP Media platform, which has been available by subscription in Italy since 19 September. The French top flight is also carried in the country on Sky Sport.

The system has been developed by Dubai-based CAMB.AI, which will translate the live commentary while mimicking the tone of French commentators Xavier Domergue and Benoît Cheyrou. The game is at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City.

Italian viewers can alternatively select the original French commentary.

This is a trial that could be repeated if the Kuwait City test proves conclusive and earns subscriber approval.
