Fenerbahçe are under UEFA scrutiny over contract agreements involving Kerem Akturkoglu, Diego Carlos, Milan Skriniar and José Mourinho, now Benfica manager. Record writes that UEFA found inconsistencies and has opened an investigation.

Sabah reports that financial irregularities were identified and UEFA has asked the İstanbul club for explanations.

The most contentious case concerns Akturkoglu, who left Benfica in the summer window. According to Sabah, payments linked to his move to İstanbul were allegedly made by a private company owned by former Fenerbahçe player Hakan Safi rather than through the club.

The situation has drawn the attention of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play committee, which, the report says, has told Fenerbahçe to make several amendments to the former Benfica winger’s contract to regularise matters.

Sabah adds that the board have met Safi and informed him that any payments must be processed via Fenerbahçe’s accounts to avoid the issue dragging on, with the risk of UEFA sanctions cited.

The episode comes as Fenerbahçe, based in Türkiye, recently saw their unbeaten run end.
