Clearly, Emam Ashour, the Al Ahly star, just can't stop making headlines for all the wrong reasons this 2025-2026 season.

The Egyptian football giant seems to have grown tired of the player’s endless antics and those of his entourage, which are reportedly dampening the mood within the club.

After refusing to travel to Tanzania to face Young Africans in the CAF Champions League, the mercurial midfielder expressed his desire to move to Saudi Arabia.

His brother added fuel to the fire by wishing him good luck at his next destination in a post on social media.

This move was poorly received by Al Ahly’s management, especially as the club is preparing for two crucial matches against Esperance de Tunis in Africa’s premier club competition.

All signs suggest that the player is playing his final season with Al Ahly, even though his contract is set to run until 2028.

Signed in 2023 from Danish club FC Midtjylland, Emam Ashour has featured in 95 matches for the Cairo giants, scoring 31 goals and providing 22 assists.
