The Egyptian club Al Ahly has put the young Cameroonian striker Serge Daura (19) on trial as they consider a possible signing during the ongoing winter transfer window.
This move is part of the club’s new strategy to recruit foreign players under the age of 21 and then loan them out for a set period so they can gain further experience.
According to a source close to Al Ahly cited by Egyptian outlet FilGoal, Daura has been undergoing technical trials with the team for the past two days. The aim is to assess his level before potentially registering him in the "underage" players category. He plays as a centre-forward.
The young Cameroonian is currently a free agent after leaving Gazelle FA of Garoua at the start of the season. Last season, he particularly stood out with impressive statistics, contributing to 24 goals (14 scored and 10 assists).
On the international stage, Daura played 13 minutes in a friendly between Cameroon and Uganda in June 2025.
Worth noting, Al Ahly is preparing to face JS Kabylie next Saturday in Matchday 5 of the CAF Champions League group stage.
