Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has suggested that Oliver Glasner will leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, regardless of whether the club achieves Champions League qualification.

Speaking on Sky Sports,’ Pardew said he expects Glasner to depart when his contract expires in the summer, describing the Austrian as a coach now destined for “the highest level.” The 49-year-old has been linked with Bayern Munich and Manchester United following an extraordinary spell in charge of Palace.

Since his arrival in early 2024, Glasner has transformed the club’s fortunes, guiding the Eagles to their first major trophy with an FA Cup triumph over Manchester City at Wembley, followed by victory in the Community Shield against Liverpool. That success fuelled a club-record 19-game unbeaten run, which was finally halted by Everton last weekend.

Despite his achievements, Glasner revealed there have been no talks over a new deal, fuelling speculation about his future. Pardew believes the manager’s calm, disciplined approach and European pedigree, having previously led Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory, have made him a target for elite clubs. “I suspect he’ll keep a dignified, neutral position and see what happens in the summer,” Pardew said.
