Once upon a time, Alejandro Garnacho was the darling of the Stretford End.

United career and exit

The Argentine broke through at Manchester United in 2022 after playing an integral part in the club’s Youth Cup win that year.

Garnacho excited the Old Trafford crowd with his brave, rapid runs at the defence and wrote his name in the club’s history when he scored in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City in 2024.

Sadly, his performances on the field dwindled, and he failed to endear himself to the fanbase with his antics on social media either, such as criticising managers and posting a picture of himself in an Aston Villa shirt last summer.

He was finally sold to Chelsea on deadline day, but things have hardly gone well for him in London as his career seems to have stalled.

Problems

Garnacho has regularly found himself on the bench for Chelsea despite being involved in 38 matches for the Blues.

He has scored eight goals and provided four assists but has only scored one Premier League goal, which came against Sunderland in October.

For this reason, The Sun report that, “Chelsea are open to selling Alejandro Garnacho in the summer.”

The paper states that, “Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior is believed to have reservations about Garnacho and has afforded the Argentine only four Premier League starts since his appointment on January 6th.”

Garnacho has since spoken about his exit from Manchester United and has hinted at regret on his part over how he acted after being left out of the first eleven on numerous occasions.

The Argentine will potentially have the chance to face his former side on Saturday evening.

The massive match will kick off at 20:00 BST at Stamford Bridge.
