Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly turned down the chance to leave England and seal a move abroad.

Garnacho out of Ruben Amorim’s plans

Garnacho does not have a future at United following his falling out with Ruben Amorim at the end of last season.

The rift between the pair came to a head when Amorim excluded Garnacho from the starting XI for United’s Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur – a decision that Garnacho publicly questioned and his brother openly criticised. The player also cast doubts over his future at the club.

It was subsequently revealed that an enraged Amorim informed Garnacho that he is no longer wanted at United, and he should look for a new team.

The Argentine is one of five players who were given extended time away from pre-season training to help him sort out his future.

Several clubs have been rumoured to be eyeing him, including Napoli, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr are also believed to have been keeping tabs on Garnacho but according to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, the 21-year-old is not open to joining them.

Garnacho rejects Al-Nassr

McGrath wrote on X, “Alejandro Garnacho has rejected opportunity to pursue move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.”

“Cristiano Ronaldo’s team had initial discussions to be part of SPL title challenge but 21yo to prioritise Europe.”

“Manchester United have allowed him to look at moves.”

In doing so, Garnacho has effectively slammed the door shut on the possibility of reuniting with his footballing hero, Ronaldo.

Garnacho prioritising Premier League stay

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano notes that Garnacho’s preference is to remain in England and continue playing in the Premier League.

“Alejandro Garnacho’s plan remains clear, he wants to continue in Premier League this summer.”

“His chapter at Manchester United is closed but he wants to stay in Premier League.”

United value Garnacho at £60m, but there is an acceptance they could be forced to sanction a cut-price exit because it is well-known he has no place under Amorim.
