Inter are prepared to consider the departure of Alessandro Bastoni as the defender’s status as an unsellable asset within the squad has shifted.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri hierarchy is now open to evaluating significant offers for the Italian international, marking a potential turning point in the club’s long-term defensive planning.

Notably, several of Europe’s elite clubs have already registered their interest in the 26-year-old. Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea have been keeping a close watch on his situation, while Barcelona are also credited with a strong interest. The report indicates that a move to the Catalan club would particularly appeal to the player, should a formal approach materialize during the upcoming window. 

Indeed, the potential exit of a cornerstone of the backline has already prompted internal discussions regarding a tactical reshuffle. Rather than dipping into the market for a direct and costly replacement, Inter are considering a move that would see Carlos Augusto permanently transitioned into the left-sided center-back role.

The Brazilian has already demonstrated his versatility in the position, and the management views him as a viable internal solution to maintain balance in the defensive trio.
