Alex Scott has turned down a new contract at Bournemouth, amid transfer interest in the midfielder.

Bournemouth have offered Scott an improved deal as the Cherries look to secure the 22-year-old's future at the club.

Manchester United have monitored Scott during the summer transfer window, while Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all understood to be watching the situation.

Bournemouth had hoped the proposal of a new contract, inclusive of a release clause, could persuade Scott to sign fresh terms, butSky Sports are reporting that the offer has been rejected.

Scott has two years to run on the contract he signed when joining Bournemouth from Bristol City for a fee of £25m in 2023.

Bournemouth value the midfielder in excess of £60m, though will hope to attract larger bids given the inflated midfielder market this summer.

Elliot Anderson has joined Manchester City from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £116m, while Morgan Rogers is set to sign for Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117m. The latter deal will eclipse Anderson's transfer as the most expensive involving an English footballer.

Scott was a key part of a Bournemouth side that secured a top-six finish in thePremier League last season and achieved European qualification for the first time.

Though yet to debut for England, he was called into the senior squad last November and was also involved in Thomas Tuchel's pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.
