Manchester United are prepared to spend massively in their attempts to complete Ruben Amorim’s revamped attack.

United were expected to slow down their spending after agreeing a deal north of £70 million with Brentford for the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.

In light of their financial troubles, multiple reports suggested Ineos would prioritise selling players deemed surplus to requirements after Mbeumo’s arrival.

However, United have intensified their pursuit of a new striker. More importantly, Ineos are not considering stop-gap solutions. Instead, they are seemingly willing to make a statement of intent with a blockbuster striker signing.

Much has been written about the Red Devils’ interest in signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. Now, a report in Germany suggests that they also recently made a move for another high-profile number nine.

Isak snubs Man United

According Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, United “made an enquiry in recent days” for Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United are reluctantly open to parting ways with Isak for a fee in the region of £150m as the Swede is pushing to leave Eddie Howe’s project.

Newcastle’s demands are well known. As such, United’s approach for Isak suggests Ineos have a significant cash spend this summer.

However, Plettenberg adds that Isak has “made it clear” that he only wants to join Liverpool, turning down United’s approach in the process.

Man United ready to go all out for a new striker

It is understood United also made a “late attempt” to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of Liverpool. The Frenchman eventually decided to move to Anfield in a £79m deal.

Now, United are pushing to sign Sesko. This time, they face competition from Newcastle for the Slovenian’s signature.

Earlier today, The Peoples Person covered a report claiming United are “very optimistic” that they will win the race for Sesko. The club’s ambitious hierarchy have “green-lit” the transfer.
