It has been one of the longest ongoing transfer sagas of this summer: Nick Woltemade's potential transfer from Stuttgart to Bayern Munich. After all the discussions, offers and rejections, the deal is almost certainly set to fully collapse - at least for this transfer window.
Bayern's supervisory board, including the likes of Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, have lost all hope for the transfer to happen, due to Stuttgart's firm stance on the tranfer fee.
The only Bayern official who has not given up hope just yet is CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen; He has maintained contact with Woltemade's camp even after Wednesday's video call with Stuttgart, where it was made clear, that the striker won't be sold for a fee under €75 million - just too much for Bayern Munich.
For this summer, it's “Bayern or nothing” for Woltemade. If Bayern however, fail to reach an agreement with Stuttgart, the player will once again open the door for other clubs around Europe.
With this increased pressure in mind, the deal is still likely to collapse, since Stuttgart have decided internally, that Woltemade shouldn't be sold anymore. Reason for that is that it would be too difficult to sign a fitting replacement in the last week of the transfer window, meaning that Dreesen's attempts seem to be not enough.
