Whilst awaiting a definitive answer to their improved Bryan Mbeumo bid, Manchester United are considering a cut-price midfielder to add to Ruben Amorim’s ranks.
Indeed, the Red Devils have emerged as surprise contenders in pursuit of Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, as per talkSPORT.
The report has credited United and Everton with interest in the Nigerian, who can leave the King Power Stadium for a reduced fee of £9 million this summer due to their relegation back down to the Championship.

It’s not the first time the Reds have been linked with Ndidi, either. In fact, they shortlisted him during last year’s summer window, during which they had a brief period when they could’ve signed him as a free agent before he re-committed his future to the Foxes by signing a three-year deal.
A release clause was, however, included to allow for a relatively seamless sale in the event Leicester failed to retain their top-flight status. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men ultimately finished 18th-placed and 13 points from safety.
It remains to be seen if INEOS chiefs will materialise their interest with a formal approach. It may depend on whether they can find a suitor for Casemiro, who continues to be linked with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr.
Ndidi, 28, has accumulated 220 Premier League appearances, with all of them coming for Leicester. He signed for the club in 2017 from Genk and has since played a pivotal role at the heart of their squad under each manager.
United have already welcomed one addition who’s proven he can flourish in the EPL in the form of Matheus Cunha, having activated his £62.5m release clause last month.
