As Real Madrid prepare to host Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu, attention is once again turning inward at the Spanish capital.

In fact, a recent report from Defensa Central has revealed a direct and revealing message sent by Xabi Alonso to one of his most important players, Jude Bellingham.

Despite a strong start to the season that saw Real Madrid win 10 of their first 11 matches, the mood around the club has shifted.

Recent results have raised concerns at the board level, with Los Blancos losing two of their last five games across all competitions.

For a club that measures success in trophies and dominance, that small dip has been enough to trigger internal reflection.

Bellingham’s form a concern

One of the key issues identified by the coaching staff is getting Bellingham back to his very best.

According to the aforementioned outlet, during the recent training session at Real Madrid City, Alonso chose to address the situation directly.

Alonso made his expectations clear in a private conversation with the midfielder, stressing just how central Bellingham is to his plans.

“I need the best Bellingham, the one I saw on TV last year and two years ago with Carlo. With your best version, we’ll win a lot,” Alonso told Bellingham.

Context is important when judging Bellingham’s current form. The midfielder missed the opening weeks of the season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.

The issue had troubled him for months, which forced him to play with a brace for an extended period.

While the physical problems have eased, it is clear that he is still working his way back to full sharpness.

On top of that, Bellingham is adjusting to life under a new manager and a new tactical system.

Alonso’s approach differs from what the midfielder experienced previously under Carlo Ancelotti, and finding his natural role within this setup is still a work in progress.

Even so, there is no doubt about Bellingham’s importance, as everyone sees him as a cornerstone of the project.
