Alphonso Davies available for Canada’s World Cup meeting with Qatar

Alphonso Davies is in contention for Canada’s World Cup meeting with Qatar. Head coach Jesse Marsch says he is available, although there is no guarantee he will feature.

According to BuLi News, Davies missed Canada’s 1-1 opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina with a muscle injury sustained while playing for Bayern Munich last month, and he could return against Qatar on Thursday at 00:00 CEST.

Marsch said Davies had trained this week and would be available, adding that Canada would see how the match unfolded before deciding how to use him.

He added that they had worked well through the issue and that Davies was looking really good.

The coach stressed that any involvement would depend on the type of game and moment, and on how they felt he could contribute, adding that the 25-year-old captain is ready.
