Alverca pip Athletic-MG to sign Flamengo’s Rayan Lucas on permanent deal | OneFootball

Alverca have completed a deal to sign Rayan Lucas from Flamengo, overtaking Athletic-MG after the midfielder fell out of Leonardo Jardim’s plans.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo had approved a loan from Serie B side Athletic-MG, but the move cooled when the player’s camp did not give a response.

The Portuguese top-flight club then pushed for a permanent move. Rayan will travel to Europe in the coming days to sign a four-year contract, with no fee involved, and Flamengo will retain 50 percent of a future sale.

Rayan, 21, remains under contract at Flamengo until October 2028. He spent the past 12 months on loan at Sporting, making one senior appearance and 22 for Sporting B, with no goals and one assist.

During Flamengo’s mid-season camp he saw limited action. He played 13 minutes against Laussanne (SUI), eight against Olimpia (PAR), and did not come on versus River Plate (ARG) or Benfica (POR) despite widespread changes.
