Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab has been called up by Morocco for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

Following his rapid rise from the German third division to the Bundesliga, Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab is now heading to the World Cup after being called up by Morocco for the 2026 tournament in Canada, Mexico and the USA. The 21-year-old was informed of his inclusion in the squad by head coach Mohamed Ouahbi at the end of a five-day training camp with the national team.

“He really deserves it,” Ouahbi said of the Eintracht winger. “Even before the training camp, we were really taken aback by his ability. He’s certainly a player with a very interesting profile – young, dynamic, explosive and quick to understand what’s expected of him.”

Amaimouni-Echghouyab was playing third-tier football for TSG Hoffenheim’s Under-23 side as recently as last December. He joined the Eagles during the winter break and made his Bundesliga bow against VfB Stuttgart on 13 January, marking his debut with a goal.
