Amorim confirms Man Utd star is ready to feature against Arsenal | OneFootball

Ruben Amorim says Manchester United’s new striker Benjamin Sesko is ready to play this weekend.

United come into this season off the back of a poor previous campaign in which they finished 15th in the League and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham.

The Red Devils struggled for goals last season, only scoring 44 in 38 Premier League games. Only four sides scored less in the division.

Since then they have bolstered their attack by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves, Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and most recently Sesko from RB Leipzig.

Amorim believes that the new striker will be a United player for a long time and have a big impact at the club.

“I can see Ben being a striker at this club for many years,” he said. “That is why we paid a lot of money. He didn’t have a lot of time training, but physically he is ready. That is a big component in our league. He’s ready to play and we’ll see if he starts.

“Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko are fighting for their places, but I’m really happy. I think Sesko has great potential.

“In everything he does, he can play different types of football, he will feel the Premier League is very aggressive, he is going to learn and he has great potential.”

The United boss also gave fitness updates on the rest of the squad.

“No, Licha and Mazraoui are out, they cannot play this game. Josh Zirkzee and Andre Onana are recovering and are options. We’ll see.”
