The surprising career move of Anas Haj Mohamed

Anas Haj Mohamed has opted to leave Italy's top flight for Belgium's second division, signing with Beerschot, a club recently relegated to the Challenger Pro League.
The striker, who came up through the ranks at Chievo Verona, is set to discover a new environment where he believes he'll have more opportunities to play and gain valuable experience. He has signed a three-year contract with his new team.
This transfer has raised many questions among the Tunisian press and some fans, who struggle to understand the decision to leave Serie A for a less prominent league.
The Tunisian international (4 caps) already boasts 15 Serie A appearances with Parma (1 goal, 1 assist). Some believe he should have waited for his chance to shine.
Others think he'll get more playing time at Beerschot and could later make a return to Italy or sign with a bigger club.
The gamble is particularly risky regarding his place in the national team, with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations looming on the horizon. Having already missed out on the last three call-ups, it's hard to see the 20-year-old being selected by Sami Trabelsi after this "step backwards."
