Carlo Ancelotti celebrated Real Madrid’s qualification for the Champions League Round of 16 with a four-word social media message: ‘Here we are again.’

Ancelotti’s Real Madrid secured an aggregate 6-3 win against Manchester City in the Champions League knockout playoff, beating the Premier League giants 3-1 at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

The Italian tactician celebrated the Merengues’ result on Thursday morning with a social media message.

“Aquí estamos otra vez,” wrote the Italian. It literally means “here we are again,” which feels quite appropriate for a team that has won the Champions League six times in the last 11 years.

Ancelotti also told reporters: “We played very well. It was complete, especially defensively. It was a game well done. We wanted to do it that way. We aimed to repeat the good things from the first leg. We controlled the opponent’s possession well. And then when you put this in, there’s the quality.

“It was a good game. They have learned what to do very well. This tie strengthens us. We have brought out our best version.”
