Danilo is expected to start for Brazil in their World Cup opener against Morocco on Saturday, 13, in Boston, but Carlo Ancelotti has been trialling alternatives at right-back after Wesley’s withdrawal through injury.

UOL Esporte reports that Ancelotti alternated Éderson, Danilo and Ibanez on the right in training, with the most recent call-up tested in a new role.

The CBF removed Wesley after he suffered a left-leg injury in the friendly against Egypt. Éderson, a midfielder at Atalanta, was called up to replace him.

Danilo remains the primary option, having been selected for this squad as a full-back rather than a centre-back. Ibanez, of Al Ahli, can also operate there.

Brazil’s opener against Morocco kicks off at 19:00 Brasília time on Saturday.
