Globo Esporte reports that Neymar has been named on Carlo Ancelotti’s preliminary Brazil list, and the head coach will watch him when Santos visit Mirassol on Tuesday 10 March at 21:30 at José Maria de Campos Maia in the fifth round of the Brasileirão.
This is the Italian’s last provisional list before the official World Cup squad. After Mirassol, Neymar’s next outing is the derby with Corinthians on Sunday 15 at 16:00 at Vila Belmiro in round six, ahead of the March FIFA call-up on Monday 16.
Brazil will play friendlies in the United States this month against France on 26 at 18:00 in Foxborough, then Croatia on 31 in Orlando. After those games, the final World Cup group will face Egypt at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on 16 June.
Neymar was on Ancelotti’s pre-list in August last year alongside goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão, though neither was called. After left-knee arthroscopy on 22 December, he made his season debut for Santos, coming on at half-time in the rout of Velo Clube in the Paulistão.
He then started the defeat at Novorizontino at Jorjão, which ended their state campaign. In the Brasileirão, he started and scored two goals in the win over Vasco at Vila Belmiro. He resumed full training in late January, with staff taking a cautious approach to his reintegration.
