Elliot Anderson says he is thrilled to have joined Manchester City’s squad of serial winners, declaring: ‘This is the place I want to be.’

Anderson joins City

Fresh from his impressive exploits with England at the 2026 World Cup finals, the midfielder has sealed his move to City from Nottingham Forest, signing a five-year contract.

He arrives at the Etihad already armed with a formidable reputation as one of the most talented and exciting midfield talents to have emerged in recent years.

Anderson is joining a City squad well versed in the art of what it takes to succeed with the Club having secured an astonishing haul of 20 major trophies over the past decade.

And from his perspective he said there was no place he would rather be as he prepares to link up with manager Enzo Maresca and his City teammates.

“I’m over the moon. I can’t wait to play for this Club. I’m really looking forward to it,” Anderson said.

“I think they’re winners, they’re relentless, and that’s the sort of team I want to be a part of - champions and people who win trophies.

“Over the last 10, 12 years, they’ve dominated, so that’s why I wanted to join.

“It’s happened quite quick [his career progression], but I think I always believed that I could get to this point.

“This is where I want to be. Now that I’m here, I’ll keep pushing and try to take this Club forward.”

As he demonstrated through his exploits with England at the World Cup where he helped the Three Lions reach the semi-finals, despite his relative tender years, Anderson marries superb technical skills alongside a fine maturity and supreme big game temperament.

The great news for City though is that he is adamant there is still so much more to come from him as a player.

And he described himself as a selfless performer determined to do everything in his power to always help the needs of the team.

Anderson’s FPL price 2026/27 confirmed

“I’m only twenty-three, so I’ve got plenty of time to get to my best levels,” Anderson added.

“I definitely think I’m not there yet and there’s more to come from me.

“I think I bring a bit of everything [to the team]. I bring quality, I bring physicality, energy. I’d like to think I’d get them [the fans] excited, get them off their feet and bring energy to the team.

“I like to think I’ll take the ball at any time. I love having the ball at my feet.

“I’ll help the team out when we’re in tough times and I love to just be involved and getting the team going forward and get all the good attacking players here on the ball.”
