André Carrillo has been named in Peru’s March squad for European friendlies, which could leave Corinthians without the midfielder depending on the post-window calendar.
The Peruvian federation announced a 25-man list on Monday. Peru face Senegal on Saturday 29 March at 13:00 Brasília time at the Stade de France in Paris, then Honduras on Monday 31 March at the Estádio Municipal de Butarque in Leganés, Spain.
With the Brazilian Football Confederation yet to publish the Brasileirão schedule after the FIFA window, it is unclear whether Carrillo will be available to face Fluminense on a provisional date of 1 April at the Maracanã. If Corinthians play the day after Peru’s 31 March game, the No 19 could miss out.
In the national set-up the 34-year-old will reunite with Mano Menezes, a multiple title winner with Corinthians. Menezes took charge of Peru at the start of the year after they finished ninth in South American qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, eight points behind Bolivia, who secured the play-off berth. He now begins a new cycle targeting the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup.
Carrillo spent about a year out of the Peru squad, then returned to regular call-ups after joining Corinthians in September 2024. He has 104 appearances and 12 goals for his country, and has played at the Copa América and the World Cup.
Before the break, Corinthians visit Chapecoense on Thursday 19 March in round seven of the Brasileirão, kick-off 21:30, at Arena Condá.
