Manchester United are desperate to shift high earners this summer in order to make space for multiple new arrivals.

Casemiro has already left for Major League Soccer, while Marcus Rashford is likely to follow him despite recent reports of a possible reconciliation.

Jadon Sancho’s departure has freed up the wage bill, with the Red Devils also keen to move on Andre Onana.

The goalkeeper, who earns £120,000-a-week at United, is set to rejoin Trabzonspor on loan after impressing there last season.

Andre Onana set to return to Turkiye

Following Senne Lammens’ heroics in his debut campaign, there is no space for the error-prone Cameroonian at Old Trafford, which is why the 20-time English league champions have opted to loan him out again.

While INEOS would have preferred a permanent solution, not too many clubs are willing to pay his massive wages while also meeting United’s £30 million asking price.

It was initially expected that Trabzonspor would pay the 30-year-old’s wages in full, but The Athletic has stated otherwise.

They have reported that not only have the Turkish side refused a buy option, but they will also pay only a part of his wages.

Desperate United forced to agree to shocking loan

“Andre Onana moved closer to securing a season-long loan to Trabzonspor after making 33 appearances for the Turkish Super Lig club this season.

“No option to buy will be included and Trabzonspor will cover a portion, although not all, of Onana’s wages.”

This just shows how desperate United are; not a good look considering they will eventually have to sell the former Inter Milan ace some time down the line.

Hopefully, with the wages saved, United can bring in a quality backup for Lammens, with Altay Bayindir also expected to return to Turkiye this summer.

There is a spot open for Radek Vitek, but a loan exit looks likely, even though the possibility of a permanent sale has also not been ruled out.
