According to Meu Timao, André has been Corinthians’ best player over the first four matches of 2026. He rose from overlooked full back to midfield pillar after a brush with release, a decisive position change and a comeback from a long knee lay-off.

His time in the Terrão brought more setbacks than highs. A full back by trade, he was regularly behind Pellegrin, the starter at the last Copinha. At the MGF Cup Sub-17 in 2023, he even lost ground to younger João Victor Jacaré, promoted to cover right back.

He appeared on release lists despite praise for his mentality and training. Under Guilherme Dalla Déa and assistant Vinícius Marques in the Sub-17, he was moved into midfield. He soon overtook bigger names, becoming the engine and brain of a Timãozinho that would be Paulista champions months later.

That status carried into the Sub-20, where it was clear he would not be a youth player for long. He scored seven goals and was among the team’s leading scorers in 2024, before a serious knee injury sidelined him for 10 months.

On his return, the same traits reappeared, firm mentality, daily application and serious work. Treated with the first team, he won Dorival Júnior’s trust within one month.

André will continue to shine for Corinthians and has an incredible future, owed to his willpower and those who prioritised individual work over the collective in the Sub-17.
