Andy Robertson has posted an emotional message for Mohamed Salah, who announced on Tuesday that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The “Egyptian King” shocked the footballing world by confirming he has reached an agreement with the club to terminate his contract a year early, bringing a legendary nine-year stint at Anfield to a close this summer.

Andy Robertson posts heartfelt message for Mo Salah

Robertson, who joined Liverpool in the same 2017 summer transfer window as Salah, took to Instagram to lead the dressing room tributes.

The Scottish captain hailed Salah as the “greatest” and highlighted the relentless standard the forward set for the rest of the squad.

He posted the following message on Instagram:

“Mohamed, Thank you. 9 of the best years of our lives with amazing memories on and off the pitch. Watching you become the best at what you do and become one of the best to ever have worn the Liverpool shirt has been a joy to watch and be part of.

“Your mentality is second to none and a lot of people could take note. You have pushed yourself every single day and always demanded more from yourself and others.

“A pleasure sharing the pitch with you for so long but even more so being able to call you a friend.

“You deserve a send off that reflects your status at LFC- the greatest. Second to none 🇪🇬👑”

Robertson could also leave at the end of the season

While Robertson’s post focused on Salah’s legacy, the veteran left-back could also be on his way out at the end of the season.

Robertson’s current contract is set to expire, and as per reports, the club do not plan on extending his current deal.

The 32-year-old has seen his starting role challenged this season following the £40 million arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

Robertson has started only six Premier League games this term, leading to heavy links with a return to his boyhood club, Celtic, or a move to Atletico Madrid.

He had a chance to leave in the summer and again in January from Tottenham, Robertson opted to stay and see out the season.

With both Salah and potentially Robertson leaving, the 2026 summer window marks a definitive end to the era that brought Liverpool their first Premier League title and a sixth Champions League trophy.
