Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach in time for this weekend’s Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Forest parted company with Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday night and have moved quickly to find his successor.
A statement reads: “Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the Club’s First Team Head Coach.
Postecoglou has been in management for over 25 years, arriving on Trentside with experience of regularly competing and winning trophies at the highest level.”
According to the Athletic, Postecoglou is to be joined by a number of staff he worked with at Tottenham prior to his departure earlier in the summer.
Furthermore, Australian’s first game in charge of Forest will be away at Arsenal after the international break.
Postecoglou has been out of work since being relieved of his duties at Spurs just days after overseeing a 1-0 win over Manchester United in last season’s Europa League final - winning the club's first trophy in 17 years.
Previously tipped for a return to management with LAFC, Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce, the 60-year-old is set for another chance in the Premier League.
Postecoglou was relieved of his duties at Tottenham following a disastrous Premier League campaign last season in which he oversaw 22 defeats and a 17th-placed finish in the table.
