Angers forward Sidiki Chérif sustained a right ankle knock during the 0-0 draw with Paris FC on Sunday in Ligue 1.
The 19-year-old was hurt in a duel with Brazilian defender Otavio in the first half and stayed down for several minutes. He finished the opening period in clear discomfort, returned after the interval, then made way for Prosper Peter in the 61st minute.
“He took a heavy knock on the ankle in the first half. I hope it is not too serious,” said head coach Alexandre Dujeux, speaking to Ligue 1+.
“He carried on for a bit, it was touch and go. Around the hour he could not continue, so we took him off. We will see how it is, today I cannot tell you more.”
Chérif is being targeted by Crystal Palace, having previously been on Paris FC’s radar.
