An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is fast making a name for himself as a potential future star in the making.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Iu Martínez as the player in question.
Iu, for his part, is a 16-year-old attacker, who chiefly operates out wide.
The youngster has long been turning heads across Spain with his explosive playing style, culminating in nine goals last season.
It was at the recent U18 Club World Cup, though, that Iu truly burst onto the world football scene.
A semi-final brace against Brazilian heavyweights Palmeiras proved the highlight of a stellar all-round showing at the tournament.
And yet, it is another aspect of Iu’s game entirely which is the leading reason behind his growing reputation.
As per a report from Sport:
‘In Sant Joan Despí they are amazed by him: “He is at a brutal level”. His contribution to the team is priceless: “His character, humility and competitive ability reminds us of Puyol’s”.
‘His coaches and teammates can’t believe the 100% competitive temperament of this 16-year-old boy.’
